Nights of Peaceful Dreaming

It had been unexpected. The distressing summons had beckoned to her from her den within the cave, and Tayui had entered to find a scene of somber tears and silent sympathy. Few said anything, and that which was said was a quiet murmur. She moved closer to the gathering, pausing as she heard Endyminion whisper something. She could not make out the words, but the feeling was there. The sorrow at having lost so valued a member of the pack, so loved a member of their family. Tayui remained in the background, lingering at the edge of the scene as she whispered her own words to the Beta.

She moved closer so she was standing beside Kieran, glancing at him quickly. She closed her eyes and continued to murmur quietly to herself, whispering all she knew about Phasma. Their Beta, friend, family, pack mate, leader, and mother to them all. She felt her heart clench as she whispered to herself, felt her insides churn in dismay. She clenched her hand, tightening it into a fist, then flexing her fingers, exhaling with a shuddering breath. Phasma was gone.

She moved, walking closer to the still form of Phasma and Fatin. She kneeled beside Fatin, placing one hand on her shoulder. She said nothing, but kept her hand on the other Alpha's shoulder, silently supporting her.
