That works! Big Grin And thanks for starting this! 500+

Ehno’s thirst for adventure had been sated with his days-long visit to Halifax. He had arrived back in Crimson Dreams just days prior and already he had fallen into his old routine. But even after his special trip, exploration remained a part of his routine, even if it was only a quick walk around the pack territory. In the morning he set out, slipping into that familiar lupine form of his for the first time since he got into a tussle with that hybrid intruder. His wounds had all healed by now. Even the ugly gash that had marred his shoulder had closed up the other day, leaving a new pink scar in its place. The chocolate hued male hated seeing it there and hoped that in time it would fade, but he knew there was no sense in worrying about it. Instead he chose to be glad that he could freely shift once again without the fear of agitating his wounds.

The skies loomed angry and gray above him, but he paid them no mind. The rain seemed to have a consistent pattern the last few days. The mornings were calm despite the looming clouds and the downpours seemed reluctant to start before late afternoon. He assumed today’s weather would follow much the same pattern. The Chief Sergeant spent the better part of his morning enjoying the sights and sounds at the lake before his restless feet took him westward, toward the windmill. He observed the stone structure numerous times before, but he had never taken the time to examine it. He wormed his way into the old windmill, amber eyes wide as they took in the sights of the slightly darkened interior. The Marino man laid himself down on the ground, content to simply observe the structure from within for the time being. He made the mistake of laying his head down on his paws, which led him to doze off and fall into an hour’s worth of dreamless sleep.

That hour rushed by quickly; as a nearby noise woke him up, he hardly began to realize that he had even fallen asleep in the first place. Before he could figure out what had stirred him, he felt something pounce on him and assault his ear. He was jarred fully awake then, and with his senses no longer clouded by sleep he easily recognized his attacker as his cream-coloured niece. Ehno laughed at her playful maneuver, as it reminded him so much of her mother. As pups, Savina would often do the same thing to him. "Sono sveglio, sono sveglio," he said with a laugh. The clouds then rumbled ominously outside, sending the pup scurrying for shelter against his chest. He realized that her fur was wet, and only then did he notice pounding of the rain outside. She must have been outside when the storm began. He nuzzled his niece reassuringly. "Non preoccuparsi di quel tuono. È appena le nuvole chiedendo l'attenzione." He looked down at Amata, hoping to calm her fears with his words and his smile.
