Out for Lunch

The Nuncio had returned from tending the cattle within their pen inside the barn. She found it strange to tend to animals when her basic instincts told her to chase them down and feed, but in the months she had been here, she had adjusted to the change in lifestyle. It was easier to care for the cattle and other livestock during the summer, because they were allowed to be free to roam and graze to get food. In the winter, Geneva guessed that it would be harder to care for the animals, with a lack of food in general. Geneva had only been in Phoenix Valley since the early spring, so she had not seen the Valley touched by snow.

The light gray woman walked at a comfortable pace, making her way around the different pens. She would check each of the animals sparingly before she returned to the ranch and to Jefferson. Although the weather continued to be intolerable, in her opinion, she felt the need to stretch her legs and breathe in clean air. Hopefully the sun would make an appearance within the next few days.

Geneva had no sense of smell to speak of, so she relied very much on her eyesight and her hearing to collect information. This was why she was surprised to encounter someone else near the barn. She blinked lime-green eyes before she recognized the figure. She did not know his name, but she had seen him upon occasion and knew that he was a member of Phoenix Valley. She opened her mouth to greet him, but saw that he was jumping over the fence into a pen. Cocking an eyebrow, the small-boned wolfess walked over to lean again the fence. "What are you doing?" she asked mildly.
