Despite the tension in the air, Gotham had no worries other than those surrounding what had happened to his chocolate sister. He was happy there, in his pack with his Momma talking to all of them. He liked that she had a place at the top of the pack, like a queen. It made him feel safer. As she spoke, he watched her, not fully understanding her words. But it was good to look at someone when they were saying something important, especially his Momma. Amata and Uncle Ehno were beside him, watching Savina, and then Amata inched forward and lay with her head on their mother's dark paw. Gotham didn't want to be out in front of everyone like that, so he stayed where he was, but he grinned at his mother and sister as he scooted closer to Ehno.

What Savina said held little surprise for Kansas. The creamy male stared at the region of her chest, not able to look back into her eyes. The only part of her small, sad speech that caught him offguard had to do with Naniko. She hadn't seemed sorry for what had happened? Kansas felt his breathing rate increase... Nani feeling no guilt somehow put more blame upon him. Now he was definitely the cause of everything that was happening now. Brooklyn's heated exit from the gathering sent a wave of sadness for Naniko through his body. She had been reduced to a loner, a rogue, from the strong leader she had once been. But Kansas didn't allow himself to feel this for very long... it was wrong. He needed to stand by his mate completely, because he had hurt her more than anyone. Maybe even more than Cambria.

The disheartened male sighed softly, his eyes falling first to Amata to see if she was all right, then to Jazper. The man was near to Anu and Savina, talking only to them. Kansas knew that the handsome dark boy did not exactly like him... He felt a pang of jealousy for the huge, masculine man Jazper was, standing there beside his mate, offering strong words that Kansas could not. The Sadira's baby blue gaze flickered away, his expression a combination of shame and contempt. He'd fallen into another nightmare.
