hysterical confession, my big courageous move

Silence reigned after Anu's words faded and the new Commander looked searchingly to the faces before her. That silence made her chest constrict, but at the same time she could not blame them for it. She had just delivered some very shocking news. News that had changed the dynamic of their pack and their home. Most of them had been close to Naniko in some way or another. Hearing of her current condition and that she was no longer with them would be enough to stun any of them to silence. Though finally a voice cut through the thick air and she looked to its owner. Ares, the young male she had just recently accepted. While she knew that he could not understand the full gravity of this situation she nodded her head towards him in thanks. She needed the supporting words.

It wasn't until her pup was at her feet that Savina noticed that Amata had moved forward. She rubbed against her leg and the settled down, putting her little chin on her paw. She weakly smiled down at her daughter, her neck craning to lovingly nuzzle the girl. It would be alright. Their family would recover. It would just take time. Brooklyn's hard voice made her head immediately snap back up and she watched as the girl raged, wincing at some of the harsher words. The woman said nothing in response though. It would be no use, the D'Angelo was hurt and angry and no doubt confused. If she said anything to counter her it would only start an argument. None of them needed that. But then she stormed off from the meeting and it was probably for the best.

When Jazper rose and spoke to support them the Italian fey released a breath she had been inadvertently holding. She had been fearful of him for some reason being against the decision that had been made. To know that he would still stand beside them was something she had needed. When the gentle giant leaned down to speak directly to them she nodded her head in understanding. Yes, of course. She had never thought of asking anyone to abandon their ex leader entirely. After he finished speaking she finally found her voice again. "You need not ask permission for that. We are not asking for anyone to push Naniko from their hearts and lives. We hope that one day she will be able to return to us. There is nothing wrong with wanting to go find her and see her."

Her eyes flicked back to her mate, but only to find him looking away, his face distorted by a mix of emotions. Why wouldn't he come to her? Come stand beside her? That's where she wanted him, not hiding in the back. But right now Savina didn't have the heart to change that. She looked back to the rest of the pack. "I think that that is enough for now. There is no need to continue the meeting unless there are other concerns to be addressed. If so let us hear them. Otherwise I think it best we all go and deal with this news as best we can." That, and she wanted to return to her daughter.
