But right now she would almost take it back, almost change her mind and not have told him at all. This embarrassment was the worst, the guilty feeling like she'd done something terribly wrong.
"You're here, Dawali, but sometimes I feel like you're not. The rest of your tribe is out there somewhere, but you're here." He said that he hadn't felt like that about anything. Not even about his tribe? "This is our tribe, and both of us have to be here for it 100%. We owe it to the members."
She had been so preoccupied with her feelings for him that maybe she had forgotten that too. "But I meant what I said, about forgetting that I ever was here. Forget that I said it. You don't feel the same, so it will only cause problems if we dwell on it."
