Bow-hunting was certainly beneficial, but also a very tricky practice. Valentine was only lucky that he had decent aim, though hitting a moving target was a lot harder than one that stood perfectly still. Guns were also a thing that was foreign to him, though he had seen plenty of them. To south, some preferred them, but many avoided them for the sake of ancestry and stories that had trickled down through the generations.
