The past few days had been difficult for the ivory and merle female. Her pale blue eyes were slightly reddened from the almost continuous crying that she had engaged in, when no one was around. Svara Thames, a woman that she had considered her dear friend had killed herself the other day, and the sensitive majordomo of Cour des Miracles had spent the past few days in mourning for her friend. She had managed to hide it for the most part, like when Jontae was in the house or someone else. However, now Jontae was with Firefly and Ruri was not expecting anyone for awhile, so she had taken a few minutes to release some of the pent up grief she felt for the gruff healer. She had just finished crying in fact when her sensitive nose caught an all too familiar scent wafting in from outside. Hurriedly Ruri dashed into one of the rooms in her house where a ramshackle closet with some old clothes hangers held the outfits that Firefly had selected for her. Ruri had placed them all in a memorized order and new exactly where to find the one she was looking for. She pulled out her favorite, the grey cashmere sweater dress. In a flash the blind girl pulled the stretchy fabric over her head, putting her slender arms through the sleaves. The soft, but form-fitting garment had been the first one she had tried on and Firefly had said she looked beautiful in it. She wanted to get Heath's opinion.

As she made her way out of the room and towards the front door, Ruri ran her fingers through her hair a few times, the only way she knew to make sure that it was all in the same place and flowing down her back in the right way. The final task accomplished, Ruri opened the front door only to be greeted by a second scent, one that she had not noticed at first but should have expected. Stark, the gentle, friendly stallion that she had ridden with Heath was standing next to the male who now stood in silence in front of her house. The silence of the situation seemed awkward to Ruri, probably because she had fumbled with the door knob rather noisily and had made a bit of a scene. She had just wanted to walk outside calmly and quietly so that Heath could watch her as she walked out. Firefly had said dresses made boys look twice. Ruri had a good idea what that unfamiliar phrase meant, and while this article of clothing was only partly a dress, she still hoped Heath liked what he saw. She had wanted everything to be perfect the next time she met with him, but at the moment she thought she had messed the whole situation up. She had to try and recover. "H-hello...Heath," she stuttered, doing her best to hold back the flood of nervous warmth surging within her petite form. "Wh-what d-do you think?" she questioned, holding her arms pointing to the sweater dress she was wearing. She hadn't immediately wanted to draw attention to herself, but in the perseved chaos of the moment she could think of nothing else to say to start a conversation. For now, however, the slender collie girl could only stand there on her porch, waiting for his answer.
