The words were out, his heart haphazardly on his sleeve and with only one to claim it. He was ready, eager now to share that with her. There was no question that she loved him, she had said so before and Heath would forever believe her words. The emotions played on her features, telling him that she found his words honest and true. With their hand clasped Heath felt his heart beat with wild ambition, with her words only increasing it’s pace. He smiled, having taken the words from her mouth and knowing that it was a pleasurable speechlessness.

Ruri slowly fell towards him, and as she did Heath didn’t hesitate to bring his arm up to hold her in place. For a moment, brief in reality and yet long and drawn in his mind, Heath only watched her. Pale, pupilless eyes watched him as well and Heath knew that she was reading his scent and body language just as he watched her smile and eyes glow. His dark hand found her face, his thumb brushing her gentle jaw line. There was silence, and yet they spoke to each other in every breath.

His ears turned at the sound that broke their serenity. So suddenly they were no longer alone and their King stood on the porch beside them. Heath had worried, feared that he would loose her to the collie. But he had come to think that he and the male could come to an understanding and perhaps be friends. He knew that he would have to fight for her attention, but Heath also knew that she would love him and that there would never be a shortage of that.

This, he had not expected.

Jac lashed out with anger in his tone and words, and Heath instantly stiffened and let his hands fall away from the female. A step forward, quickly placing himself in front of Ruri. It did not matter if it was Jac or any other, the tension and aggression pushed him to instantly defend her. The fur along his neck stood on end, and as he spoke Heath was surprised and shocked by his words. “Its not like that.” He spoke, trying to reassure the King that what ever he was thinking was not true. “Trahir je vous?” He questioned in the French that he was so at home with. He loved her, in a way that was different then the love that the King and girl shared. The growl beneath the words could not be helped, though he stifled the true anger that he felt. Ruri wished for them to be friends, and he would try to perform such a miracle.
