<3 Been too long! Big Grin

@#$%&Gradually the subtleties of the situation dawned on his consciousness. Although the woman was naught but skin and bone, he couldn't detect any (recent) signs of battle on her. Her sandy son seemed to be faring at least somewhat better, and at once he understood what had happened. She had been holding out until she got here--and now, she'd given her child the last gift she could give: she'd delivered him to Inferni's doorstep knowing he would be protected. Though his eyes were soft he gazed at the woman intently, wondering exactly who she was or what, if any, ties to the clan she possessed. Was she operating on word of mouth, or was this yet another member of their sprawling familial or political network?

@#$%&The boy turned to face him and his gaze lifted to the child's face--those eyes of bold aquamarine were unlike any he'd witnessed on a coyote before. If anything, the hue reminded him of Ghita's. The tiny growl hardly registered next to the rest of the lamentable scene, and Anselm took a seat in his place. Far closer to a wolf in stature than any coyote and most hybrids, he decided it would be inappropriate to advance any further. If the boy wished to seek him out, it was his choice.

@#$%&Regardless, it now seemed unlikely that he was related to any of the existing membership base (or at least the de le Poers or Lykois), and the boy's enquiry caused him to falter momentarily. His expression dropped further and he gazed off to the horizon briefly with a sigh: so she'd lacked either the opportunity or the will to explain to him where they were going? "Because your mum wanted the best for you," he offered simply, reassuringly. It seemed for a moment as if more words should come, and yet they did not. Anselm was at a loss, as was the rest of the earth. All he could hear was the faint crash of waves in the distance.
