A knock on the door immediately alerted the injured border collie to the presence of another individual and the voice that followed quickly identified her visitor. What a wonderful coincidence! She had just been thinking about Haven and now here he was coming to visit. "Come on in, Haven! The door is open," she called, finishing what she was doing in the bedroom, grabbing a blanket to keep warm and immediately limping into the living room to her couch. For each small moment that her injured ankle bore her weight Ruri winced, biting back a small whimper of pain. The pain did not last long, though, as she quickly limped to the couch and plopped down, grateful that she could now rest her injured limb. She had not noticed if Haven had seen her limping into the room as she had been far too focused on getting from point A to point B that she hadn't taken the time to listen for Haven's entry. That was yet another reason why she hated being in pain. Each time her leg twinged her senses were all dedicated to stopping the pain as quickly as possible, shutting out the things around her which she usually focused so much on. It was another addition to her feelings of vulnerability. Fortunately Ruri was now to distracted to dwell on such an upsetting topic. She had a guest, and not just any guest but her friend Haven, the great knight of Cour des Miracles. The slate and white female could not wait to start conversing with him. Surely they would find something interesting to talk about. What that would be, Ruri had not the slightest clue, but she was eager to begin just the same.
