Conor certainly didn't seem like his father. Onus had honed the skill of being able to read people and what they were like quickly, it was something that came in very handy for the kind of work he did, and he couldn't see that darkness that was so prevalent in the brown male in his son. Perhaps Haku was no kinder to his offspring than he was to anyone else. When the coyote thought about it that probably made the most sense. The Soul male wasn't the type to purposefully reproduce, he would only look at them as a very troublesome and unfortunate aftermath of his escapades...or unwilling conquers as Onus was sure most of them were. Someone else had undoubtedly raised this boy, and from the looks of it had done a good job of it. Much better than what the beast that was his father could have.

He didn't respond to the confirmation seeing as he had more or less already gotten it. He could sense the subtle changes in the youth on this topic; he wasn't comfortable. It would seem that he was not exactly fond of his bloodline. When Conor asked if he and Haku were friends Onus invisibly bristled beneath his coat. "No. Not at all," the older male answered more gruffly than usual. The thought of him being friends with such a despicable creature made his skin crawl. No, the only thing he wished to happen to that wolf was for him to die slow and painfully. That was all he deserved.
