As the wolf’s face began to contort from a snarl to a rash smile, Snake began to realize that he hated him. There was no logic within this sudden feeling, especially within Snake. He hated the feeling. He usually went day in, day out without having a single emotional care or whim within the world. The biggest blip on his radar was momentary annoyance or disappointment. Anger, sorrow, passion—these were things far beyond his scope. It seemed to burn him, caustic to him. This only sped his retreat. When he had put around fifty feet between him and the lilac-eyed aggressor, he did turn his back, though—his anger, and the fear and hatred of that anger had become too much for him—and he began to run back to Inferni, following his own scent trail, along the same way he had come.
