She gagged softly and spat the other canine's dying flesh from her mouth, watching as the other canine's body crumpled in front of her, now missing a limb and with a jagged hole torn through her throat. Instinctively the hybrid threw back her head and sent up a coyote's yowl, beginning with a few high-pitched, sharp barks, leveling out to the high notes of her kind's howl, far lighter than a wolf's heavy, throaty call. Still, Kaena's voice was as much a hybrid as she was herself, and there were tones of a dog and wolf mixed into her yapping. Still, the symbolism was there—the hybrid claimed this life for Inferni, punctuating the statement with their call. The thunder of the hunt and the power of the kill still flowed through her, and when she lowered her head once more there was that same glint shining in her raptor's eye, fierce and proud of the thing they had done together. She looked at Hybrid, her tongue lolling out between her sharp canines, her lips pulling back to display a positively wicked grin toward the other canine, immensely pleased with their catch and kill. |
