So sorry for the delays. The combination of finals and the holidays (and crazy weather) made the last few weeks crazy. But! I'm taking fewer classes this semester, so life should settle down some soon x.x; Also, this reply is rather rushed.

She grinned broadly in pleasure and relief, glad to be keeping Anselm's company -- and also glad to have shelter from the worst of winter. "That's not at all surprising. The Mbwa mwitu are generally not great travelers," she responded, referencing her own species in its familiar Swahili name. "Our culture does not encourage exploration," she offered by way of explanation, since she would rather not get into a lengthy discussion of her personal reasons for leaving home. And, of course, since she would be staying, there would be plenty of other opportunities to share cultural notes.
