ooc: Sooo this is set nighttime on the 3rd, which would make it the same day as our reconnection thread which happened in the morning after the 2nd I think! :>

Colibri Haki caught her breath, riveted to the enticing call that reverberated through the hallways of the manor. That wolfsong held her transfixed; her adoration for the older female knew no bounds, now that they shared the same homeland, the same den, the same bedroom. Her wide blue eyes peered down the hallway, trepidation shadowing their clear hue. She had watched as another female trotted down the stairs out of nowhere. The white wolf had moved swiftly, tail high with confidence as the night swallowed her. Coli hesitated, shuffling her small paws in the doorway of her room. She wanted nothing more than to fly to her beloved's side, to shadow her everywhere and keep her all to herself. But she was a Crimson Dreamer now, and that meant she had to know her place. Anu was a leader, and Coli was the lowest of the low. Duties came first.
Family was next on the list of priorities, and Coli was fairly certain that it was Anu's daughter Brooklyn that had swooped ahead of her. She lived in the mansion as well, didn't she? It was spacious enough that the occupants did not always meet face to face, but their scents inextricably perfumed the halls and chambers within. If Anu was with Brooklyn, she wouldn't need her clingy roommate distracting her. And, cowardice made her dread meeting Brook and Mati, for how was she to introduce herself? Blood relative or no, the sisters would surely look down upon someone their age falling in love with their mother. And the more rumors they heard about Haku Soul, the less inclined they would feel to welcome his mangled daughter with open arms...
Biting her lip, the brown-furred timber wolf padded softly down the stairs, slipping out into the wintry night. She could just keep her head down and make an appearance. Perhaps it would color her impression favorably to show her packmates how unobtrusive she was. She wouldn't be much help with the actual hunting, since she was still recuperating from the loss of her tail. Her strength was returning, but her balance was not. The slippery snow coupled with her inability to make sharp turns rendered her somewhat useless tonight, but she could never resist an invitation from her Anu. She smiled sheepishly as she emerged into the moonlight, ears tucked back conservatively as she nodded to Anu and Brooklyn. They were sort of family, weren't they? "...Good evening," she murmured, a little too intimidated to join in the howling. She sat lightly on her haunches, casting Anu a helpless glance as if to ask her how to behave in this situation. Should they act as equals, or defer to rank?
