In Character

By all accounts, and though he would not wish to think of himself as such, Kai was nothing more then a follower. He belonged low below those who were his superiors in strength and wisdom, knowing instinctively that the best means of survival would be making sure those who could defend him—those who could defend whatever home he currently inhabited—were in charge. He was young and inexperienced and green. No part of him was tailored for survival, much less war, and he had no education outside of the knowledge of how to hunt and how to kill, and these were mediocre at best. Still, it had kept him alive, and that was all that really mattered.

It was only at the strangers voice that Kai became aware of his presence, turning sharply, like a fawn startled by an unfamiliar noise. The man that was approaching him was not Haku, but nearly as impressive to the young wolf. He stood tall (comparatively), broadly built with a coat a few shades darker then Kai’s own. His eyes were a startling copper, and held no humor in them. Though he did not know it, the stranger was as new as he was. Instinctively, though, Kai believed that the way he carried himself suggested a higher rank. Taking one step back, ears fanning towards his tail, the tawny boy shook his head. “No, I just joined.” Yesterday, to be exact, when he had found Haku Soul. Unsure of how his newcomer status placed him in regards to this man, Kai obeyed the wolfish instincts that told him to submit, not willing to risk his health against someone who had a height and weight advantage over him (currently, though all accounts Kai would outweigh and stand taller then the much smaller Italian wolf).
