In Character

There was distaste in his companion’s face, but Kai barely caught it. His eyes did narrow slightly, but it was not a malicious thing, instead only a perplexed sort of expression that suggested he wasn’t quite sure what was wrong with the stranger. Perhaps he had eaten something sour, and his stomach had begun to bother him. If that was the case it certainly sucked for him, but Kai had no knowledge of healing. Kai didn’t really have knowledge of much at all, but he was going to make a point in order to learn and learn quickly. Haku had asked him—no, ordered him to kill, and Kai would do his best to make sure he did not disappoint his all too worthy leader. Haku Soul was a man worth killing for, if only because he was such a might to be reckoned with. No part of that had been overlooked by young Kai here.

Oh sounded peculiar, as if the words couldn’t make their way out of his mouth without catching on his teeth. Still, the malicious tone was missed by the two year old, who continued to look up at his companion with those baby blue eyes and no sense that he hadn’t been what the wolf had wanted to see. Once he was satisfied that they had crossed the strangers border, and begun a conversation, his ears lifted and he focused his eyes on the Italian’s own, finding their color interesting but not as remarkable as Haku’s had been. Every wolf he had seen up until this point had either carried yellow, brown, or a muddled mixture of these shades. His own blue eyes made him unique, and he knew this was a sign of something special. “Oh yeah,” Kai said, suddenly perking up at the mention of their chocolate alpha. “He’s really something. Have you lived here long? I’m Kai, what’s your name?” His voice, that light boyish tenor, was smooth and pretty, but unfit for the terrible darkness that lived in Dahlia de Mai.
