There was effortless arrogance in every facet of Sicarus's being; he was right, he was absolute, he was convinced and certain in everything he did—it was not possible for Sicarus to make a mistake. He would be absolved of all of his sins so long as he asked that forgiveness; whatever acts he committed that God might frown upon, he committed them to better His earth. Prostitutes and whore scum did not deserve the soil and air He had made for mankind, and each night as Sicarus prayed for his forgiveness he ranted and raved at his beloved god and told him of these horrible deeds, endless words and paragraphs and novels falling from his head silently as he filled the void with words. Of course, there never was an answer, but Sicarus required none. He did not need reassurance to know he was right, after all.

The monastery was a distant echo in the wolf's mind, but their training, the way they'd ingrained into every fiber of his being what he was and where he'd come from, that had not left him so easily as memory, and he found himself acting in the very same ways he'd kept his whole life, though whether this was out of comfort or simple programming Sicarus could not say. He was educated but he did not consider things in such abstract terms, nor did he consider philosophy very much. Such was the beauty of faith—he was utterly, completely blinded by it, driven to act for a blended Leader-God figure that he could not discern from the sky or Haku himself.

The other canine was speaking again, and Sicarus forced his attention, still hopeful the other canine might contain something useful. With his first sentence, the Gazon had discerned there was virtually nothing good about this other canine. His youth made him moldable, but Sicarus was not a leader. He had no desire to shape and make someone into something they were not—then again, if Kai were to force himself along for the ride, there was nothing Sic could do about it. Bright orange eyes flickered to the other canine's face, a look almost like confusion appearing briefly on the tawny canine's features. Who else is there but Haku? he wondered to himself. From the scents around the pack the male had determined it was mostly women around here. Perhaps Haku kept them as his harem, which, although disgusting to Sicarus, was within his right as leader. Haku could do no wrong.

"Ah. He should be busy, a leader is always busy," the wolf said, once again that reverence creeping into his voice. "Though if we'd be so lucky, he might deign to stop for just a moment and deliver instructions to us." Coming from anyone else, the words might have been sarcastic—Sicarus meant them wholeheartedly. Who was he, who was Kai compared to Haku? To even speak to these lowly Gazons, their Rosen was lowering himself and granting a favor onto the subordinates. "I think I'll seek him out myself," the wolf said, still with that sniffing tone of condescension about him. He turned, and found he had no idea where to stomp off to. This caused him a moment of hesitation, vexing Sicarus. He was not used to uncertainty.
