In Character

The building, or the house as it was now called, was an entirely new phenomenon to Kai. He was not afraid of it (because he feared so little, convinced he was nothing less then immortal in the ego maniac way of a young boy) but it did seem…peculiar. Setting his jaw and frowning, Kai watched as his older companion abandoned the weight that had been making him seemingly miserable, and bounded forward like a boy to his mother. Well, not mother given that Sic didn’t have one (whatever that was about). Still, if his friend was going to go investigate the place, Kai wasn’t going to be left behind. Especially if Sic thought that he was a coward—oh that wouldn’t do, not at all.

Picking up his feet and moving towards the building, Kai put one foot gingerly on the first step, then realizing it would hold his weight, clambered up ungracefully, unfamiliar with the way the steps were set up. Once on the porch, he followed his friend’s display, and reared up on his hind legs. Both paws hit the edge of the window, and he stuck his nose against the cold, dirty glass only to find there was nothing to see much from the amount of dust that had clung to the glass. Irritated by this fact, Kai dropped back down onto the porch, both ears twisting nervously as the wood creaked under his weight. Still, he wasn’t that worried. Sic didn’t seem to be, and Kai refused to let him see any trace of doubt in the blue eyed boy.

Instead, he lifted both brows, cocked his head and waited impatiently for his companion to do whatever it was he needed to do with the house. There didn’t seem to be any way to get in.
