The carvings and drawings embossed in the large tree’s bark were captivating. They told a story, each one emanating with a different power as they all but danced in their place in the dark wood. The young man was memorized by them momentarily, his eyes glazing over slightly as he gazed at the intricate markings in the oak’s bark.

He turned his attention back to the young woman, his eyes clearing from the fog that had been settling in them. He shook his head mentally, ridding himself of the feeling of warmth that he had gotten from this tree. He would have to analyze this, but that would be a job or later.

The white male nodded his head, smiling slightly at the pretty female. Her horse was struggling slightly with his tie, and the young male had to laugh a little at his antics. He reminded him of Bud, and Levi decided to take the big stallion for a ride later. That is, if he could get the big horse to behave himself.

“Yeah, we’re new here. This is Kaya.” He patted the mare’s thick neck, his arm wrapping around underneath her chin as he did so. The mare nickered softly, as if to prove she was the one Levi was talking about. A low chuckle erupted from the white man’s throat.

The little mare lifted her head and stepped around Levi, her tail swishing as she walked. The horse stepped softly over to the other horse, keeping a polite distance to him, her ears pricked in interest. She nickered quietly again, her ears flicking.

Laughing softly, the young male cleared his throat. “My name is Levi.” He stepped forward, sticking out his hand in the typical gesture of greeting he was accustomed to. His eyes were trained on his horse, making sure she was behaving herself before turning his green gaze over to he female.
