"I take seeds," she said and lifted her hand to pluck a few more as if to be an example, if she said the wrong words, or he might not understand. She dropped them in the bag and still it felt no different. Her shoulder wiggled, bouncing the bag in order to test the weight. "Why you?" she asked, her blue eyes turning to him as she poked at a few more sunflower heads. Her finger flicked through and the older rotted seeds fell away, leaving the healthy ones for her to pick and add to her collection.
