A cold wind sent chills down Mercy's spine, bringing along with it the smells of death and war. She shivered, this place creeped her out. She looked down at the skulls, covered with dry blood and scratches. The strong scent of coyote covered the land around them. The border was clearly marked. She looked around for anyone anywhere, but noone was visible...yet. Rumors had spread that two lands were at war, this place housing one of the sides of it. If she entered and made herself known now, she'd be walking right into the middle of it all. Her nerves got the best of her and she turned and ran, ran as far and as fast as she could.
Only after a mile or so did she stop to catch her breath. She could feel her legs give out beneath her and her body crash hard onto the ground. It was then, her vision gave out on her and her conciousness had left her. Until his voice took over her mind.....her demon, her past. Pst...oh mercy....
She groaned and moved her head from side to side, trying to get his voice out of her mind. "No no...go away, go away you monster" She whispered meakly to herself, she couldnt deal with him right now, she needed to get back to the border and....and what? Your pathetic Mercy....just miserable arent you? "NO!," She bursted out and jumped up, stumbling over her legs a little, and turned to return to the pack borders.
This time, she stood tall and wasnt afraid, She ignored the demon in the back of her mind laughing quietly and pushed aside her fear. She leaned her head back and called into the wind, Her voice wasnt anything beautiful, it was normal. Good enough for a call to whoever it was that was close enough to hear. She didnt like the idea of jumping headfirst into a war that wasnt any of her business, but she was tired of being afraid.
