It's just our nature

Strel meant something to Mati, and it was safe for her to say that he was one of her greatest friends. The two had a deep connection, and Mati always enjoyed spending time with him. She wondered how he liked the mural, now that he had spent more then just a few hours with it finished on his wall. Mati was certain that if she saw it there would be something that she saw that needed fixing, or something that could be added. Still Strel had said he liked it, and Mati found him compliment meaning more then when it was said my most.

If there were someone that Strel liked, as intensely as she liked Cambi, then Mati would want to meet him. She found it odd that she put the male pronoun to it, but that was who it would be and she thought the clarity of that knowledge to be very eye opening. Some things began to make all the more sense, how he acted, and the feminine-seeming gestures of his hands and the way he liked to make clothes. It was not all far fetched for a male to enjoy, but the sort of males that enjoyed the company of a female… perhaps. She was not exactly knowledgeable in stereotypes.

She smiled at his words, and sat as he got up to explore some more. Her legs had grown tired, and she looked at the painting as the male wandered. Cambria looked back at her, asking silently when she would be revealed to her rightful owner. But then she would have to give it up, the picture no longer living in her sunroom home. Mati would be without her, and she was not sure if she could stand the thought. Strel’s voice broke all concentration, and violet eyes looked up to meet the words.

”I just don’t want her to be hurt by anyone.” It was a very honest truth. Mati feared mainly for her friend, though a bit was reserved for her own esteem. But she smiled, her confidence boosted at his words. The Church woman did not know that he might have been in such a situation, not sensing any of the bitterness that he might have. She laughed again, his notion of males just as true as it would ever be. “There isn’t anyone? Or someone that you’ve loved in the past?” It was a hard question to answer, and she looked with soft eyes for what ever he wished to tell her.
