That morning Nayati had gone to the place where some of the tribe's weapons were stored and inspected the hunting spears that lay there. A couple were still in good shape, but many were in disrepair and in need of some attention. No one else would likely do the task and so he gathered the worn implements in his arms and headed out into the open air. He wanted to find a nice, sunny spot to work in, but first he needed to stop by his hut and gather some supplies to help repair the spears. Quickly he gathered up his soft leather strips of varying widths and sizes as well as a stone that he could use to sharpen the points. Those in hand, he regathered the spears and walked out into the woods that would soon open up into a soft plain. While he walked a bright color caught his eye. Looking closer he found some cardinal feathers scattered about. He sadly didn't know what had happened to the bird, for there were many feathers, but he gathered them up and took them along.

Pale gaze found the perfect spot, a flat rock that could serve as a sort of workbench for him with greening, waving grass all around. Grinning he set his supplies down carefully, laying them out for inspection. As he did this, Onawa prowled up and without saying a word curled up in the soft grasses, her eyes closing. Nayati smiled at her before turning back to his work. Picking up a spear that had been cracked in half he also took a thick strip of hide and started to carefully realign the shaft and wrap it so it could once again be of use to the wolves of the tribe. The Utina found an immense pleasure in such tasks and let his mind relax and wander while his hands mended the weapon.
