AniWaya needs a Hometree, imo X3 300+
The wrapping of the spear was slow, careful, and deliberate. His concentration was fully upon making the binding secure enough to keep the wood together. After having wrapped a good length of it he doubled the hide strip back on itself and tied a good knot once he came to the end of the length of it. Pale gaze roved over it, as if he were trying to see through the leather to decide whether or not his effort had indeed been successful. Placing the spear horizontally across both his hands he held it up to see if it bent at all where the break was. It appeared to hold well, but he knew that he wouldn't know if his repair job was good enough until he actually tested it. Of all the things that could happen to a spear, a break in the shaft of it was the most difficult to repair. Usually you just had to make a whole new one, but he had wanted to try. He would test the weapon later, for now he would move onto the others that needed repair.
His keen ears had picked up the movement coming out of the woods, but he hadn't paid it too much mind, assuming it to be one of his tribespeople walking around the territory. All of the outsiders he had met had been on the borders and he didn't expect to see any unaccompanied within actual AniWayan lands. The voice that called out and rang in his ears was unfamiliar, but that still didn't signal someone not belonging here though. There were still many of this satellite tribe he had yet to meet. Nayati turned his head to look at the tawny colored woman, a plant cradled in the crook of her arm. Black nose sniffed the air and found that she actually did not carry the tribe scent. A brow rose over one eye, wondering who she was to enter the lands so freely. "May I help you?" His tone didn't portray hostility, but there was a bit of a hard, questioning edge to it. There was a chance that she did have a reason to enter on her own, so he would wait to hear her before he made any judgment.
