For Conri <3 Hope that it's ok, it's a bit...choppy.

Night had fallen, the sky dark and starless tonight, the small twinkling lights hidden by the clouds that had hung lazily in the sky all day and had stubbornly refused to move even after the sun had set. The only light was a weak glow from the moon, which would appear every now and again through a break in the dense clouds and cast an eerie glow across the lands, causing the gnarled trees to throw long, twisted shadows across the ground. The night was too still, there was no wind to be felt, the air hung around the woods like a cloak, heavy and unable to dispel the layer of fog that hid the leaf-littered floor from view, causing wolves to get into trouble as they could not see their paws, and small holes or ditches left by animals burrowing, or the raised roots of the old trees.

Soran was pacing, wringing her hands together, entwining her long slender fingers and then releasing them again, occasionally twisting strands of her long curled mane around between finger and thumb as she walked. The jade eyed lady was concerned, after her encounter with little Naniko, who was not so little anymore, she had been troubled, her son, her eldest son had gone missing for sometime and now he was injured and her youngest babes were nowhere to be found. A mixture of panic and regret had overcome the ebony lady, she had abandoned them and now had perhaps lost her children forever, the pups had gone, where she did not know, perhaps never to return, she did not know if they were alive or dead even. And as for Conri, had she been here she could have helped, he would not have been injured as he had been, surely there would have been something she could have done to help. These thoughts had been swirling through her mind all day, while she had raced through the lands looking for her oldest boy, when her search had been fruitless, and now, when she had retreated just outside of the Clouded Tears borders to think. Soran was still panicking, still striding up and down as her mind rolled through countless possibilities of where her offspring might be, countless maps of Bleeding Souls and the surrounding lands went through her mind. None of them helped at this late hour though, even with her keen sense of smell it was too still a night for any breeze to bring her scents that could help her in the right direction, and even though her mental maps of the area were perhaps near perfect, Conri could be anywhere, as could Dhalia and Khaden. And so the lady settled for striding up and down, her canvas satchel discarded at the base of a nearby tree as she paced.
In the morning she would have to start a full search for her oldest boy, for at least she had an idea of where to start if she looked for him.
