It was a man thing. And it was a controlling thing, and a Heath thing. It was that his life had been so unstable that he craved the control and the stability. He knew it was wrong to control Ruri, and he didn’t want to. She lived her life and he was a lucky son of a gun because she chose to live it with him. But this was his domain, and this was his horse. It truth she owned heath more then he had ever owned her, but how could everything just so suddenly change without his consent? He looked away the moment she spoke, his lip twitching as she corrected him. Both. He spoke, his tone low and thick with anger.
He couldn’t listen to her, and refused to hear her lengthy speech. She sounded like a woman scorned, burned by a male that had chosen such a thing for her in her past. But he didn’t think any more of it, This has nothing to do with you. He attempted to claim, though he knew that it was only because of her that this had happened. It was a blessing and a joy and still Heath was too wounded, afraid that there would be something that went horribly wrong and in the end he would be without. It had only happened a few times in his life. Heath took the hold of the halter, and tried to be as calm as he could as he led the mare back into the stables and into her stall. He turned his back on the new member, and didn’t say another word.
Golden eyes looked at the face of the mare, his brow still low and hard. She simply looked back at him. There was no fear, no anger, not even annoyance. She was calm, completely and totally. Heath was too wrapped up in his own emotions to see that she was trying to teach him how to live, and how to react to such news. The male closed the door as she entered her living space, latching it before stamping away.
