There were many things that formed a creature into what it was. Haku’s illness had turned him into something twisted and evil, yet highly superstitious. There was no doubt in the beast’s mind that he was something far greater than this façade of flesh and bones. Deranged and determined, and he firmly believed that King’s soul too eventually would belong to him. The tainted blood was strong in the young child, and there was room for greatness here. Patience came and went as it pleased in the madman’s brain, but the boy was given time. He stank of weakness, but he was young and had to be guided into the path of destruction. It was natural for the boy to experience fear. Death stood close behind him in the form of his sire. Had he broken into a run or surrendered to the fear, then he would have lost his life. King chose not to disappoint the monster.

As the boy moved forwards, the man withdrew and became an observer. Copper refreshed the stained atmosphere and the boy was victorious. Electric blue gazed upon the smaller form with contentment. Haku’s jagged teeth remained exposed, but the youth had passed the test. Blood soiled the young wolf’s glorious coat, but it was a sight of true beauty. He was not unaware of the quakes catching hold of the Dahlian’s body. It was the boy’s first kill. ”Remember that feeling,” the beast spoke softly, believing that just as his father, the young boy would eventually find dark pleasure in this deed. To hold a life in one’s hand gave a sense of power, but to be able to crush it and watch as death replaced life was indisputably beautiful. The crazed man charged then, pushing the trembling form of his biological son aside to destroy the cooling body of the boy’s first victim. Fangs ripped through the dead man’s tissue, staining muzzle and face alike with pink and crimson as he dined on the man’s flesh.
