The graceful youth bowed in greeting, her lyrical voice bright and clear as she offered her name. Coli straightened her smile in return -- she could not help herself, that friendly grin was irresistible -- and inclined her head in a small nod. "...Colibri Haki. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sylvie Ciel."

Coli believed firmly in the supernatural, in things predestined and superstitious. And in the crepuscular ambiance, everything had a hint of magic; the calming presence of the lake at her back, the irregular flicker of fireflies, the glint of moonlight on Sylvie's eyes. The beauty of it all moved something within her, a rarely-seen facet of her splintered personality that sought to abandon all cares and worries and simply seek enjoyment.

Every once in a while, Colibri found a way to free herself from the anxiety that shackled her. It felt like a lifetime ago that she had gotten tipsy and kissed a girl, and the last truly worry-free moment she had felt had been dancing in the rain. No one saw her that night, and it had been exhilarating -- pirouetting and soaring amidst the shimmering jewels of rain, the world gleaming beneath her paws, the rumble of thunder her music. It had been such a light feeling, difficult to describe and harder still to recapture. Kissing Anu had given her that feeling, too, but it was fleeting and confusing, muddled with her self-doubt and fear of abandonment. A self-fulfilling prophecy, she had sadly realized. But she wanted to feel that light again, and something about this Sylvie told her she could make it happen.

"Do you... know anything about dancing?" she asked softly, blue eyes holding a curious light. She shifted her weight slightly, her tail stub flicking with anticipation. Sylvie's fluid balance and lean form made Coli think that perhaps she did...
