Cambria wanted to run and she wasn't sure what exactly held her feet in place. She listened only distantly as Lucia tried to defend her actions. A moment ago she would have retorted, explaining how rude the girl had been from the start and how she had just waltzed in here without any kind of permission or humility. Maybe if it were anyone other than Mati she would have spoken, but now her throat was constricted and all she did was stare at the floor. She couldn't bring herself to look at either of them. Cambi could feel the tension and anger rise up in the Church fey when it was made known that they had been yelling about her birth mother and she felt even more guilty. She knew how painful that topic was to Mati, nearly as painful as it was to her. Why couldn't someone else have intervened? Someone who wasn't as deeply touched by the subject of the pale woman.
Mati spoke heavily once again in her defense, and offered to show Lucia out of the house. Cambria hoped that stubborn girl wouldn't fight it and would just leave quietly. She wanted to put this whole ugly mess behind her and she could feel the pressure of tears behind her oceanic orbs. She never wanted to talk or think about that woman, and now it had all been brought up and caused problems again. It was just more proof that she was good for nothing and only caused pain to everyone around her.
