Eris had never seen a coat like this canine's—the sable-furred woman could tell nothing from the flame-brushed canine's exterior. There was nothing she had seen here before—the woman's origins and her blood were a mystery to the chartreuse-eyed woman. Despite that the hybrid saw something here; she was as drawn here as she had been toward the white wolf, though this attraction was entirely different. Of course, it was platonic—there was no sexual feeling in Eris toward any woman in her life. There was a light and soft voice from the fiery canine in a language which Eris did not recognize, let alone understand. The voice held no malice, however, and the Equites did not think she had just heard curses and threats.

She did not know what to say, and so she remained silent, and the other canine continued speaking, introducing herself. “Sgiathatch?” the sable-furred woman responded, mimicking the other woman's pronunciation as best she could. The word tasted foreign on Eris's tongue, though not entirely unpleasant. “Eris Lykoi,” she said, figuring her surname didn't goddamn matter with this woman anyway. There was little chance it was familiar to her; everything about the orange-dusted woman said she was not from anywhere close to here. “I suppose they are now,” the wolfish hybrid said, though this was not spoken in an impatient tone. Maybe she was coming to grips with this place as her new homeland, though dreams of the desert still filled her head at night.
