It seemed like another world entirely. The landscape was simple, open to the elements and to those that might encroach on it’s borders. Unless one stalked low through the long grasses, it would be almost impossible not to be bee seen if walking at full height from quite a distance away. But Mati saw more in the waves of grasses then other might. The lack of trees would not be favored by her mother, and she wondered why the elder female wished to spend as much time as she did with the leader of these lands. The colors, even in the shadow of the clouded sky, were something that she was inspired to mimic in some sort of painting.

But not this one, she figured as Silas answered. A waterscape. She smiled at the thought, finding that she was prepared for such a large blue toned composition and that she had not done such a painting. Smaller scenes perhaps, but she drew the picture in her mind as he spoke. Mati did not favor things that had a violent undertone, but she could not help but picture the rounded crests of thrashing waves, a ship peaking over it, its sail lowered and billowing in the wind. She found she liked it.

At his word Mati looked up to catch the outline of the large house in the distance. It instantly reminded her of Haven Manor, even with the covered porch. She wondered where everyone was, and she would be lying if she said she wanted to be confronted with another Inferni member. Silas was pleasant, sweet to her and always polite. But she worried that she still was not welcome by all. She took the steps behind him, and hesitated as he opened the door for her. It was dark inside, but vast as was her own home. But she waited in a nervous silence, wishing for him to lead her to the right room.
