Pale blue eyes watched Mati, excited to see her go to work. He stood close by as she bent to pry open her paint can and Silas’ eyes lit up at the strange blue paint contained in the metal can. When she handed him a brush, Silas accepted it with a smile beaming over his features. "Of courze," he replied as she went to mixing the paint and he watched as the ribbons of varying colors began to mix and revive into a blue that would work perfectly for the ocean scene she intended to paint.

He had barely noticed the sound of footfall in the mansion’s hallway, dismissing it as one of the boys that lived on the other side of the second floor. But Silas had been wrong in his assumptions and he was just as surprised and startled as Mati must have been when the door to his bedroom went swinging open, knocking over one of the lit candles and easily dousing its flame. Halo stood in the doorway – the last person he’d really expected to see – and her ears flattened against her copper hair. A storm of emotion kicked up in his stomach at the sight of her, yet she seemed disturbed by the scene she was witnessing.

Without a word, Halo quickly turned and made her way back down the hall to the sanctuary of her room, leaving the pair in silence for no longer than a moment. "Halo," Silas breathed in disbelief, features contorting to show his confusion over what had just happened. In a moment, Silas had stepped over the fallen candle and out into the hallway, jogging a few steps so that he could catch up to the Hydra. A hand went out, aiming to grasp her arm and halt her departure. "Halo, vhat’s vrong?" For the moment, Mati had been forgotten in Silas’ room, for he just had to discover what was plaguing the Inferni princess’ mind.
