It was time to go. Inferni was only so welcoming as a whole, and though Silas was her friend she felt as if she had worn out her welcome here. His hospitality would not go unappreciated, but she no longer felt it right that she be within the borders of the clan's lands and especially here inside their house. Unfortunately Silas was not the alpha of Inferni, and for all she knew this female outranked him. To some it meant little to be above or below another in pack or clan standings, but Mati knew enough not to test those traditions here. Despite the female's forgiveness and apologies Mati knew she wanted her gone. Gone for good. Though she could not guarantee that for the red-eyed woman, with the mural still needing to be finished, Mati could at least give her this moment alone with the Agata male.
Silas' question was not taken as light hearted, let alone banter. She had put herself out of her comfort zone by coming here, and now she had given them both a secret that she had not been willing to share just moments ago. In the hopes of saving their friendship or whatever more it seemed to be Mati had exposed herself as well as Cambria Marino. and that was not all that she hoped to do for him. Her tone was as even as she could manage and Mati looked from the Silas to his friend and then back again. But I should go, I'm sorry I couldn't have worked on the painting more. Maybe another time. She gave him a smile, forced and lasting only a few seconds. He needed her gone, to mend what might be broken between him and this Halo. Maybe if anything good could come of this it would be exposed feelings, things that they might had hidden from one another was were not forced to face it.
Mati did not regard the female again, and turned to gather her valuables and return home.
