Gray Lines on a Wall

Nothing magical happened, but the woman had no expectations. Another step was taken in the opposite direction of the two friends. Silas asked for a name from the wolf, but Halo let the rest of it flow in one ear and out the other. While she was sincerely sorry for fucking up things as she had, she would not reach out to the wolf in any way. In her disturbed view they were separated, closed off by two different worlds. She could understand and to a certain degree accept that the barrier was not impenetrable by some, but to her it was. There were many things she could not share with anyone. She wondered what Silas would think of her if he was to find out that Halo had shot her own sister in cold blood. There were many skeletons in this closet. She would have to make sure no one would get to it.

When the woman announced that she should go, those crimson orbs widened slightly. There was no way she survive alone with the male right now. Her cheeks still burned invisibly with shame. The wolf turned before the Lykoi woman could come up with a reply. The Hydra looked to Silas. ”I have somewhere to be,” she excused herself, voice solid though it felt paper thin in her throat. With haste present in her form again, she turned and attempted to retreat with at least a fragment of her pride remaining. The two canines could do whatever they wanted, because Halo had no intention of returning home to the mansion for many, many hours. She would no doubt regret her swift departure at a later time, but it was the most desirable option to pick in her current state.
