Gray Lines on a Wall

Raising a palm, he accepted the things that Mati handed to him. "Sure," he responded softly as they made their way out of the mansion and off towards the borders. The open air around them offered a nice relief, letting the tension disperse some so things didn’t seem so suffocating. Icy gaze traveled towards Mati as they walked, and he found himself shaking his head in response. "Don’t vorry about eet, Mati. Ve can feenish eet some ozher time, ya?" He tried to remain optimistic, but he had to wonder if this encounter had ruined Silas’ chances of ever getting Mati to come back. After all, Halo had reached for her sword.

An ear flattened at her words and the reality of the situation came back to him. Halo had thought he and Mati were and item, and she had acted so severely. He wanted to tell himself this was because she had feelings for him, but Silas knew it was probably just over the simple fact that Mati was a wolf. Inferni had it biases, Silas was well aware. "Eet vasn’t your fault. She’ll get over eet." But would she? Would any of them?
