Mati had been hurt in the past, she had felt the small pains of rejection. But how she had felt towards that male of seasons past was nothing compared to the connection that she had with Cambria and thus the memories of those sorrowful days were not hard to look back on and felt to be fairly insignificant. She had come to believe that there was someone out there for everyone, and that they might appear to be different then one might have originally anticipated. Her experience with her own heart had told her that such was the truth when looking at something so unpredictable as love could be.

They found their way to the border, and Mati was beginning to feel much better about the possibility of returning to his clan’s land. His words were sweet, just as Silas had always been to her. He deserved someone that would love him, that could commit to him and spend the rest of their lives together in happiness. It was a dream, a life filled with love and without emotional pain and grief. But she had found that dreaming was better then allowing the possibility of being alone to enter her heart. Yes, it was in her mind and though she had Cambria she knew that there might be a time where she would have to live without her. But her heart would hold tight to the knowledge that it wouldn’t have to be without, that there would not be a crack let alone a break of its fragile shell. As unrealistic as it might be, Mati would just rather be a believer.

Thanks Silas, I will. Mati gave with a soft tone and a small nod. The tall wolfess took hold of what he had been carrying and gave a final, I’ll see you around. The Dreamer gave one last small smile, and then turned to make the long journey home.
