pouncing on this reply like a rabid puma...rawr!

Everyone had their mistakes and Anu was not immune to such faults. The female could not count how many things she wished to take back, the things that she would have liked to do over. Haven was one of her successes. A mother was able to take pride in her offspring’s achievements, to almost take them as her own. His rank in the Cours pack, his moral attitude, his ability to love. Anu could borrow those achievements at times, fill her heart with warmth in knowing that she had been part of his development, part of his success. It was impossible for her to look at him and not see the small pup that wanted to kill dragons and rescue damsels in distress.

Princess answered her question politely and with warmth. Anu smiled softly, happy that she had found sanctuary in her pack but also that she had been able to fit nicely beside her son. In her mind it was the rightful place for the pretty wolfess. She wouldn’t have been happy away from him, even it meant having the Dreamers as her pack mates. At times the world held only a single soul, the rest were merely secondary. It was nothing to be ashamed of, if the feelings and reasons were pure. We miss you, Anu responded as she spoke for the pack, but are so glad you are happy. her tone was filled with the normal honesty that Anu always portrayed. She was sincerely happy for her.

Haven’s voice drew her attention back to his face. News? I have something tell you too.She spoke as he did, but let her voice fall away as she read the look on his face. Her eyes widened slightly as her cheeks fell as her broad smile softened slightly. He did not seem uneasy, and the news that was about to come was nothing dreadful. But before she could guess he spoke of the wonderful partnership that the two had forged. It was impossible to not see it coming, for the time Anu had pushed Princess away and towards Haven and his pack she had hoped that such a thing would be the outcome of that event. Still Anu look from the orange tinged wolf to his new mate and felt tears come to her eyes. His success was hers, and so was his love. Never had Anu second guess his ability to love, or to commit, but she still took great joy in the fact that he had found someone that was right for him, someone that would make him happy. This was a wonderful day.

I’m so happy for you two she spoke, the tears still dancing in her eyes. She wouldn’t cry, Anu told herself as she inhaled deeply. Her emotions were so uncontrolled these days. Anu could hardly look Haven in the face without seeing him as the pup that had once asked her what love was, what it meant to with another in a physical way, she couldn’t help but see the innocent son she would always love. And here he was, grown up.

Her own news took a back seat to all of this. It was not happy and perfect as this pair were, and Anu forgot that she needed to even speak of it.
