A cold rain was falling from the heavens above. She could see the flakes of snow mingled in with the bitter rain, and her bright gold-green eyes watched in mild amusement. Misery had come through the lands a few times in the past while, never quite feeling ready to settle no matter how much she may have wanted to. This last visit felt different. She'd built herself a fine shelter, even if it wasn't the greatest of things. Just a ramshackle shack that kept her warm and dry. The glass in the window she was staring out of had been salvaged from the humans city. That dirty wreckage. It was small and bare, but it was a shelter. She had stocked her supplies in there on a few shelves she had built in there, and that was good enough for now. A scroungy pile of blankets served as her bed, and a dirty, patched knapsack held things she hadn't quite unpacked yet. Her salt and pepper hair had dreadlocked, and was pulled back from her head by a loose string.

Before the rains had started she had cooked a pair of rabbits she had managed to snare, and was quietly pulling the meat off with one hand and eating. The rain was strangely soothing, and she was certain her weary, old body would get a rest. She had pushed it quite hard just to finish the cabin. The shack that was nestled between two trees so close to Damian's den. She'd been spoiled living in Europe, dens didn't feel the same anymore. A bottle of whiskey accompanied her meal, mostly watered down poison though. She had no interest in being drunk at the moment, she was feeling surprisingly well. Joyous more then anything, and that was a strange way too feel. The door to her little shack swung open, and she looked at it with mild surprise. She'd have to get to making the damned thing stay shut soon enough. For not it was all right, and she pulled a blanket about her shoulders. Life felt surprisingly good today, and she was happy for it.
