The rain came hard and heavy in thick sleets that blanketed Ever's pelt. She gave up attempting to shake off the water when it coated her pelt faster than she could protest. A mournful howl came from the distance which she ignored with distaste. She was still weak from her journey and her head swam with new scents. Ever's stomach twisted with protest, finding nothing to feed on. Her head dropped and her tail skimmed the puddled ground.
The wind whirled and twisted, whipping the rain drops into angry hurricanes that blew across the desolate land. No shelter. Ever pushed against the wave of fury and snorted when she came upon a small tree dressed with fungi and vines. She swallowed uneasily and settled down, watching the rain pound the ground with soggy fists.
