When did rain ever stop someone

’Well I did promise’ He thought as he trudged through the rain, she told him to meet him rain or shine, he didn’t mind the rain but because it had been raining a lot lately, it started getting muddy in spots, and since Niro was still rather new to this climate and area, he didn’t know the best places to walk so he ended up sticking a foot in some muddy, mucky puddle on the way to his and Amaranth’s secret cave. Once he got n the beach he’d gotten mud and now beach sand on his feet, the rain wasn’t helping him wash it off yet, so to his utter distaste he went to the shore where it was quite cold, and let the salt water wash the mud off his feet as he made his way to the cave, he made sure to creep in just in case Amaranth was in there or she would tell him he wasn’t being serious about their secret cave and treasure they found throughout the days they wandered the lands. He’d been on a visit to put some rather pretty looking stones in when he saw a note for him, and a very pretty rock, he had put it in a pouch that was hooked to his belt, it would be a nice keepsake.

Upon entering the cave he heard Amaranth talking at first he thought she was talking to herself but then he heard the hissing and growling of the cat. He tucked Marahute’s head in the pouch, knowing that would give away to worse things, but he never left without the bird with him anymore. Not since the barn cats had tried to get into the cage he had for the little bird, and even when he put her in his room the cats tried to get to his bird even then. Now it seemed the poor thing could get a rest from the furballs. Niro had never been close to a cat before they tended to run off at the sight of him, and he could tell that his new friend didn’t want the cat to go, he knelt down and tittered softly, he knew that soft quiet noises tended to calm down a cat, he’d learned that from his sister who’d been fascinated by them for some time. He knew he was blocking the only exit that they knew of, so it might be a little intimidating to the kitten. Or was it full grown, he couldn’t tell in the dark.
