I'm unoriginal, but I've been meaning to send Bris back to where Kol died for awhile. XD

She probably shouldn't be here, but she didn't care. It was a cloudy grey day, and it had rained that morning, making the sand cool and moist beneath her body. In rare form, Bris was without her satchel, seeing as how she had one purpose and one alone when she'd set out at the break of dawn. The white yearling had been mindful to check on her sleeping charges before she'd left, and the Victorian house she and the pups shared with Conor and the others had been still in the early hours of the morning. Her goal in mind, Bris planned on returning before darkness fell, which meant that she had plenty of time to endulge in her solitude.

The young luperci's right ear twinged as it tried to get used to the new adornment Bris had fashioned the night before. In her many searches through Wolfville, she'd finally found a stud earring that would compliment the remaining half of her sister's slave earring perfectly. It was round and made of silver, like Kol's bottom half had been, but instead of the spider-web pattern that had made up that circle's interior, Bris' stud contained a symetrical cross. It was what was known to the ancient humans as a medicine wheel, though Bris had no way of knowing that as of yet, and silver feathers hung down from it's hoop. In the center of the rough-looking cross was set a small cabochon of opal, its various hues of blue, green, purple, and yellow sparkling in what little light broke through the clouds. After connecting the newfound medicine wheel stud with a small silver chain to Kol's thunderbird-engraved earcuff, Bris had performed her very first piercing: on herself. She'd seen her older sister do the procedure plenty of times, and the white Stormbringer was fairly pleased with how her first piercing had turned out. With a little more practice, she might even consider doing it for others.

A chilly breeze caressed the wispy white fur of Bris' long mane of hair. Sighing softly, the girl pulled her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs as she stared out at the grey expanse of choppy water. There was a storm rolling in from across the bay, but Bris had no intention of leaving until she was ready. It had been nearly two months since Kol had lost her life on this very shore, and Bris could almost believe she heard her sister's voice on that wind that sang across the sand. Not a day went by that the young girl didn't long for a second chance to relive that day, to do something more, to save her sister's life. Not a day went by when those crucial moments didn't flash through her head. The sound of the waves on the shore, the blood that turned the sand a bright and beautiful crimson, the madness in Kol's killer's scarlet eyes as he'd moved in for the kill, the tears that had streamed from Bris' own eyes as she'd shrieked out a battle cry and tried desperately to save her sister; they were all a part of the Dahlian as readily now as the blood that coursed through her veins. Unbidden, Bris felt hot tears well up in her mismatched eyes, and she buried her head in her arms. "I'm sorry Kol, oh god I'm so sorry. I just wasn't good enough..."
