Hope flared up in Bris' chest as she felt her right leg make contact with the male's chest. Her kick had been solid, and a spared glance over her shoulder proved that she'd managed to send her attacker sailing back. Adrenaline coursed through her body, and the white Dahlian pulled her legs beneath her and surged forward. The grey sand beneath her was still a major hinderance, as the werewolf couldn't seem to gain any sort of friction with her feet. Unfortunately, her attempt at getting back on her feet was short-lived. The male's full body weight suddenly slammed into her back, his fangs sinking into the right side of her neck and shoulder. Blood dripped over her collarbone and down her shoulderblade as she went down again.

Panic nearly overtook the Dahlian as she felt crushed beneath her attacker's weight. She couldn't turn over to try and fight with her arms and front claws, as that had been a mistake Kol had warned her she'd made the first time she'd fought the monster. No, she had to try and throw him off again, and then flee. Bris was no longer stupid enough and blind enough to believe she could beat him on her own. Gritting her teeth against the pain lancing through her shoulder, Bris writhed and twisted beneath the red-eyed demon, trying her best to loosen his grip on her and toss him away long enough to get her feet back under her. Growling in pain and rising frustration, she reached her right hand up to claw at the male's face as she tried to twist her body to roll him beneath her, aiming to gouge out the beast's eyes and pin him beneath her and the ground. If she could blind him and stun him or crush the wind from him, maybe she could loosen his hold and lunge away. Bris was completely inexperienced in fighting, and there was no doubt in the yearling's mind that Kol's killer knew that intimately.
