His throbbing shoulder made every step painful. It did not help that each breath was a battle to draw in air to his damaged lungs in long, painful, wheezing gasps. Despite these setbacks, Hybrid was determined to soldier on and ensure that this white wolf understood his intentions. She would feel fear every time she saw a coyote and she would feel hatred so raw and vile it would drive everyone she loved away. He hoped to make her mad, and to do that, he would have to strip her of her humanity.

When he thought about the bigger picture, his wounds weren’t as painful. They were all part of the plan, and for this plan, he could handle such wounds. Although, he would much rather inflict pain on his opponent -- that would be ideal.

Hybrid felt his teeth sink in to her shoulder, but as soon as he made contact, the wolf began to squirm and thrash beneath him. It was a familiar tactic, and while Hybrid was prepared to withstand the blows she would inevitably deal him, he had to save his energy – for the greater picture, that was.

He was too slow: her claws met his face, ripping away skin and fur, as well as Hybrid’s jolly grin. He roared in pain as he felt her claws near his eyes and reacted exactly the same way she had: through chaos. He thrashed and moved, trying to lash out at the girl before they completely separated. Whatever she had done, his right eye hurt terribly and was covered in blood. He couldn’t see out of it, but he hoped it was only from the blood, not a permanent wound.
