Bris got lucky: her claws had found their mark. The white fur of her hand turned crimson as Hybrid's blood stained her claws and fingers, and she could feel his movements suddenly become more erratic. She had no idea how badly or lightly she'd wounded him, but it was at least making a difference in the fight. Bris felt a sudden burst of energy and adrenaline as she realized she'd managed to mark him, and she bucked and twisted her shoulders and hips underneath him. She had to shake him off, it was the only way in hell she stood a chance at survival.
It was hard to believe that a mere two months ago Bris had stood at the borders of Inferni in search of the very monster who now clawed and tore at her back. She'd gone to kill him in cold blood, to take out her rage and avenge her sister, but the scars that crossed her ribs and palms were the only things she managed to achieve that day. The mounted guard had found her and forced some sense into her with pain, but she hadn't realized just how epic of a failure her endeavor would have been that day. Bris was no match at all for the mangy Infernian who was toying with her, and her fury would have made her all the more stupid and easier to kill. She'd been a fool to think otherwise, and now the point was being violently driven home by her attacker's fangs and claws. Her actions seemed to be loosening the male's grip however, and she continued to fight for her life. She had more to live for now than ever before, and she couldn't let the beast take it all away. Not today, not ever.
