Heath could easily remember the days when Lumière was still a wild horse. Though their relationship was something he considered unique, they were not without their moments of miscommunication. The roan mare had come to him, accepting him before he even knew what it was to be so bonded and trust another in the simplest of ways. She had closed that gap and even though she was one that he could say was calmer them most he hadn’t the slightest idea of what to do when he first started to ride. And of course he fell off many times, not because of her reluctance or skittishness but because of his own ignorance.

There seemed to be a little touch of father in him despite that lack of his own in his life, and Heath called after the pup as she gallivanted off to play their new game of follow the leader.
