The female followed the male closely as they walked through the woods slowly and easily. Their paw steps were silent as they padded on the soft ground and clumps of grass that grew randomly. Ever’s eyes lit up at the canopy of trees thinned and sunlight shone through the spaces created and onto a slim river, turning the ripples to crystal. The girl hesitated on the gentle slope, studying the river that had seemed to have grown there itself, until Heath questioned her out of silence. She descended down the shallow hill and onto the bank of the brook.

Ever lowered her head and lapped up the cold water quietly before answering. Her mouth was no longer dry and she felt as satisfied as ever with a warm feast and cold drink. Thinking hard about her experience, the female finally answered.

Yes, it has. All has been well. The girl said truthfully, staring down one side of the shallow stream. Although it was thin, it was well composed into the forest with every curve and twist rounded elegantly. The silver wolf bent to drink again, noticing the pebbles shifting slightly from the current on the bottom.
