The summer heat was obvious, sinking in like an old friend into the mothers' and pups' very bones. The day couldn't help but serve to stir a memory for Ghita, remembering the first time she'd taken Sophia and Aro outside. The world hadn't changed, much as Anu was realizing now, but her whole perspective had changed. Not only in the sense that the vast, wide world of Crimson Dreams could easily pose a threat to her children, but all of her values had rearranged themselves, the pelts of her two children taking precedent over anything else.

Lowering herself down to the porch, her muscles stretched and groaned as they were dragged into use, growing lazy in inaction. Pierced ear flicking as Anu sat beside her, the turquoise-orbed fae fiddled with her walking stick, unease slowly shrinking into a ghost of a companion, the fae allowing herself to relax in the simplicity of the day's wonder. Meeting Alder's eyes with a grin wider than her pack had seen of late, she gently wagged her ivory fingers in his direction, amusing the pup as best as she could without the use of her leg.

She couldn't pretend not to notice Anu's body growing tense as her two more adventurous boys headed towards the edge of the porch; With three vastly different pups, Anu would have her paws more than full with trying to keep them in line - something Ghita was all too familiar with. It was a mother's communal instinct to watch over the littlest of present company that kept her gaze trained on Oak and Cypress as they wandered, even as Anu's mothering did the same. Besides, it was easier for the mother of two to watch them instead of Anu at this time, especially as the question she asked was balancing delicately in the state of indecision.

Nodding slowly, Ghita could do anything but relate to Anu's situation. She hadn't had a clue of who the father of Anu's pups were, and didn't feel the need to press her on it. Whatever decisions Anu had made that led her to her current situation were her own; Hers to remember, hers to regret, hers to revere - For Ghita to pretend that it was her business would be blasphemy to her nature. She'd at least had Jazper around - knowing almost immediately that he would help her raise the pups.

Sure, their bundles of joy hadn't been planned, or expected, but that didn't mean that they were any less welcome. Ghita was fully prepared to raise them on her own, but hadn't had much time to dwell on that uncertainty - only a few minutes, if her memory served correctly. After all, it was just after she and Savina had discovered her pregnancy than the culprit had wandered onto the scene and pledged his love - and his devotion. And she'd returned it without looking back.

"I'd be more than happy to help wherever I can." She said, her voice softer and less accented than it'd been in the past few months. Just because Anu didn't have a mate in the pack didn't mean she didn't have friends. Ghita was sure that she wasn't the only one who'd leap up to help Anu raise her boys - at the very least, Savina and Mati would help in a heartbeat, and Ghita was confident she could bully Jazper into lending a hand too.

Watching Anu help Alder down the stairs pricked at the memories of her own childhood, skidding over railings and scampering over any obstacle that stood in her way - something that carried over into her adulthood. Every obstacle but this one, it seemed. But perhaps Anu's gentle action served as a metaphor for her own condition - after Alder had been helped off the porch, he'd be more than capable to play with his siblings on his own.

"Yes, the world is a scary place, at times. But at our best, we can take the danger, take the fear, and be evermore stronger for it."
