All this time I was waiting for you

noooo worries!

Blue eyes, the color of sky and clean water, looked down at the three pups. Two explored, their noses working feverishly to find all the new things that hid in this different world outside their confined room. Alder watched her, and Anu pushed him with her nose. His head moved downwards, eyes looking at his brothers. The mother started to move away and back up the porch steps to sit beside her friend. Dark smudged face looked back at her, a long whine escaping his small snout. But the mother could not baby him, and she sat lightly on her behind with Ghita’s words echoing in her ears.

She was blessed, even if it wasn’t very obvious at one’s first glance. There were some that thought they had it all, but their relationships were false and hollow. Their wealth meaningless and their powers a façade. Anu was genuine, and she believed and felt that her life was the same. Those around her were real and honest, her family not of blood but tied closer to her then any genetics. She felt blessed, even without a lover, even without a partner, but because of those that still loved her through out these past years.

These puppies were more then a blessing. The time and energy that they would take from her were gifts she was more then willing to give and Anu felt that it was nothing less then a miracle that they had been conceived and came into this world without complication. The female had never forgotten her age, and how it might affect them. And she did not forget it now that she was graced with the task of raising them. Alder watched his mother for a few prolonged moments, and then turned to make his way towards his brothers. A small push, Anu thought, it seemed that it was all he needed.

Anu looked to Ghita as she spoke, her smile soft and filled with the contentment that she felt. I believe you are doing that now. You are stronger then I am Ghita She spoke of the other wolfess’ body as well as spirit. The Lt. General had fallen to things much less terrible then a broken leg. Anu thought back to the things that had pulled her down and made her feel like life was impossible to continue. Nothing compared to what Ghita faced, nothing seemed to be as bad and Anu could not imagine another that could have dealt with it as bravely.
